This above article talks about the United States participation in funding towards eradicating AIDS/HIV. In 2003, the United States began providing financial assistance to Africa for supplies and medicine. There has been political talk about decreasing assistance due to the decline in America's economy. Many politicians, including Clinton, believe this is a bad idea. So do I.

This terrible disease has not only affected Africa, it has become an international epidemic. I think that going back to where the disease started in important towards creating a AIDS free future. Since our current medical interventions do not provide a cure we have to look for ways to prevent this disease from continuing on to our future generations. Though we have made strides toward this common goal we have a long way to go towards eliminating this debilitating disease from world.
