Jewish civilian communities are building on land that was captured by Israel during the 1967 Six-Day War. The international communities feel as though these actions are to be illegal. The united Nations view The Israel settlements as a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. No foreign government supports the settlements being made by Israel.
The last authorized settlement of Israel government was in 1999. The United Nations and others feel as though this situation will not help the peace process with the Palestinians. Israeli feel these are just expansions of the existing settlements. In July of 2012 the UN Humans Rights decide to look into the Jewish Settlements. Israel responded by saying it would bar the Council from access to the sites.
