Catholic Church says NO, to using condoms in prevention of AIDS transmission...

I came across the video above while reading an article on PBS. It talks about the Vatican's unwavering stance on the use of condoms, even in the prevention of AIDS. Methods of birth control have always been frowned upon by the Catholic church. This makes an interesting case with catholic missionaries who visit countries such as Africa. Many people would think providing birth control such as condoms would help decrease the spread of AIDS. Despite whether or not this may be true, the Catholic church has continued to support their view with methods of birth control.

Many followers of the Catholic church support the abstinence of birth control, but if it is a means of decreasing the transmission of HIV/AIDS than should we make an exception?

If condoms had been used years and years ago, would this disease have become the global epidemic that is has become today? These questions do not matter now because what's done is done. We only look towards the future and the steps we can take today. However, much conflict arises when religion becomes a factor in one of the steps we can take.
